Getting ready for Halloween!

This is my favorite time of year!

Even though we have not even been here for a week you can bet yourself that I already have decorations up, candles/oils burning in the house and cute Halloween cookies in the cookie jar. I would've had a nice fall arrangement on our dining room table but it's on back order until the 20th :(

Here are just a couple pictures I snapped of Cade playing in the front yard yesterday!

MOD Moms

Back in June when we learned we would be eventually moving to Katy, TX I quickly did some searching to what the town was like. I came across a website with all the mommy groups in the area and was very interested in this one, MOD moms of Katy. This groups is for new moms that are new to the area and don't have much family or friends, (like us HA). They accepted me and kept me on there site even though it would be awhile before we could actually go to any meet ups.

The first meet up I rsvp'd for was today at Chuck E Cheese. There were about 4 moms that came to this meet up, 2 of the moms had 2 boys each that were Cade's age and the other 2 moms had 2 baby boys the same age (so cute!). It was so cool to see Cade interested in all of the games, he knew which games he wanted to play and was putting the coins in and operating everything on his own!

Here are a few pictures :)

Katy, TX

I know I've not been keeping up with this blog, we have been SUPER busy with this move. I will do a quick run down of whats been happening with our life.

October 7th; Atlas moving company came in and moved our ENTIRE house thanks to Bobbys awesome work who paid for the entire bill. (whew)

Cade and I took off for Texas the same day, got to Alabama around 9pm and got checked into our hotel for the night.

October 8th; Get checked out of the hotel around 9am and hit up the local Starbucks (of course!). We arrived in Katy around 4pm. I brought bedding in my car so that Cade and I could camp out on the master bedroom floor for the night.

October 9th; The movers arrived at 7am to unload everything. Took them about 3 hours, 4 guys and me telling them all where to put stuff! Thank the lord for them. Bobbys is working offshore right now so I had to do all of this by myself with Cade. It was actually pretty easy considering the moving company did everything!

Our new furniture got delivered the same day as well!

The past few days I've been cleaning, shopping, playing with Cade and of course putting our new home together!

I absoutly love it here, now I know why everyone who I talked to over the phone said "oh you will love Katy". In the area where we live there are a lot of stay at home moms (I MEAN A LOT), that are very involved in the community. I recently joined 2 mommy groups so we can meet new people and Cade can built friendships. The moms are always doing fun activities for the kids along with mno (mom nights out) as well.

Our neighborhood is perfect, in a cul de sac, very quiet and super cute! We live in a large community with tons of parks, waterparks, golf courses, tennis courts, beach clubs and etc. Not to mention the shopping is awesome as well!

Katy has the number one school district in all of Houston. A lot of the churches have a program called Moms Day Out where "if" you can get on the waiting list, it's a program to take your kids 2 days a week so the moms can have mommy time to get their errands done! I've already got in touch with a few places, wish us luck on that one! Another really cool thing that I found is this place about 3 miles from our house called Itty Bitty City, it's strictly a drop off place for your kids. They are professional babysitters and you can drop your kid off whenever you want and pay an hourly, there open mon-thurs until 9pm and fri and sat until 1am, Bobby and I will deffinetly use them to have some date nights! You can also have birthday parties there on Sundays, It's really cute play place.

This town is super nice kinda like something you would see out of a movie, seriously.

People are STILL wondering why we moved....

Bobby got laid off of his job in FL in February and couldn't find work. The jobs for him there were going down due to the economy and our patients were running out. One of Bobbys really good friends that he was in the Marine Corps with lives here in Katy with his family as well and told him about his job in Houston working offshore as a Hydrographic Surveyor. Bobby contacted Fugro Chance and they flew him out for an interview the same week. He's been there for a few months and loves it. Bobbys worked in this field for 7 plus years (including military years) doing land surveying. His new job is working on big vessels in the Gulf of mexico monitoring the ocean floor for all the oil piping and stuff. It's hard to explain and his job but it's quit intresting. Even though he is gone for weeks at a time it's totally worth it. It's nice when he comes home because he is home for a few days or even a few weeks (with pay).

Cade and I are doing just great and even though I miss my hubby terriable I know he is doing whats best for his family and that makes him a good man!

I'm very lucky I get to stay home with my son and watch him grow and learn! We do so much fun stuff together and we're so close, it's the best feeling in the world.

Okay well that was really long haha I just wanted to let everyone who reads my blog to get a sense of whats going on. There's a lot more and I will try and keep with the blogging thing but sometimes we're having too much fun or I get to lazy to get on here lol.

Accomplishments...

Check this one off the list! Cade can now ride his tricycle without any help. My mom got this for his 2nd birthday and it was a bit bulky at the time, he had been struggling to pedal it for several months and would just give up and move on to his razor lol. GO CADE!

He loves it now, we go on atleast one bike ride a day!

Caladesi Island

On Tuesday we decided to take a family trip to Cadadesi Island, well a mini trip it's only 45 min away. This is one of my favorite Florida beaches, also it was voted #1 beach in the world a couple years ago. We were really excited to take Cade there we knew he would love the ferry ride out to the island, and he did, we also saw some dolphins on our way to the island. We spent a good 4 or 5 hours there. Cade had a blast jumping in the waves and picking up sea shells. Bobby and I got fried out there but it's now looking like we actually live in FL haha.

Stopped at Publix to get some deli sandwhiches before headind out

Happy Father's Day!

This is the first Father's Day we will not be spending with daddy. We will have to celebrate when he gets home from working offshore! He truly is the best father and husband to Cade and I, we couldn't ask for more!!! We love you and will see you soon.

Daddy the Kitty Bear...

Today after Sunday brunch with the family we decided to hit up International mall to let Cade play. They have a really nice play area there with a ton of kids and Cade needed to burn off some energy. They just happened to have a damn Build A Bear shop right by the play area (smart thinking for them) and Cade kept wanting to go on there so we did and we let him pick a animal out! We have never took Cade in there because he's not really into stuffed animals but we were like ehh what the heck we have nothing better else to do.

Out of all the animals he picks out the cheapest bear, fine by me lol. He picked a kitty cat sound for the bear and we asked him what the name of the bear was and he said "Daddy" haha. There was a little shirt for the bear that said "Worlds Best Dad" so we got it! kind of funny it seems like we should be giving the bear to Bobby lol.

NEWS NEWS NEWS!

I've been bad about blogging lately so I have lots to blog about!

Well we had a girls trip to Las Vegas on April 24th to the 26th to see Britney Spears in concert, we had a lot of fun and the concert was great!

As you know my husband was laid off from his job in February right before we went to Mexico for Stacies wedding (buzz kill haha) anyways he has been unemployed ever since. He applied for this company in Houston, TX doing hydro graphic surveying for Fugro Chance, he got a call from them on April 27th and they flew him out that Thursday for a interview. He got the job! So that's that. He will be commuting there until we figure things out here obviously he can't commute forever so "eventually" we will become Texans, weird to say. I'm sad but I stand by my husband and this is an awesome job for him and we feel very blessed. I guess you never know where life will take you!

While Daddy was away...

Bobby had to work in West Palm Beach for the past 2 days so Cade and I made sure we had some fun Mommy and Cade time to keep our minds busy while Daddy was away! On Monday it was raining all day so we stayed in pretty much all afternoon and of course that got a little boring so we made a shopping trip to good ol Target. I let Cade get this truck that was way over priced and when I mean way over priced I mean it, this darn thing was $27.99 (you can see it in the pictures), he's been eyeballing it ever since last month so of course I got it for him.

When we got home it was still raining so I decided to let Cade play in the rain which this was the 1st time I let him, one because normally when it rains here it thunders and luckily it was not this time so needless to say he has a BLAST stomping in puddles and running around with his new truck.

Mommy has way too much time on her hands...

So I got a little bored this after and decided to but on some Britney Spears on to pump me up for her concert next weekend in Vegas, I also decided to make Cade dance around to the music and wear a hot pink wig that I bought for the concert! Total blackmail for when he's like 16 years old! hahahaha

Easter fun

We had a awesome Easter this year!

The night before Easter we had our neighbors over for dinner and the kids exchanged Easter baskets, they got a lot of cute little treats. Cade and Elaina had fun playing Mario cart on the wii (you could imagine how that went) haha. After they left I told Cade he needed to go to bed so the Easter bunny could come, so off he went.

He woke up around 8:30am or so and the first thing he said is "mommy the Easter bunny came and got presents"... We started laughing, anyways we took him out to the living room where he discovered his basket was filled, he loved looking through everything... Thanks mom!

We had scattered eggs throughout the house and front yard which he LOVED looking for the eggs! Then we were off to Mema and Pop Pop's house for a yummy dinner and more egg hunting along with a refreshing swim!

Easter festival

This morning we went to a Easter festival with our friends and there daughter Elaina a.k.a Cades best friend. I've been hyping this up for Cade so I could use it to bribe him! He was so excited to go see the Easter bunny again, by the way this boy is obsessed with the Easter bunny it's a little scary actually. Right when he spotted the bunny he ran over to it and would not stop asking for the bunny to pick him up.... LOL It's kinda cute. Then the bunny had to venture over to the other side of the park and Cade the stalker proceeded to follow him.

The kids had fun riding the train and jumping in the bounce house, there way also a ton of activities for the kids. This was a really nice festival considering everything was free including food and dessert! Cade scored a ton of eggs from the hunt!

Mommy made me wear this!

Little grandma and grandpa!

Waiting to get released for the hunt

WOW

Binky's are for babys!

It's been 2 weeks since Cade has not used his Binky! I just all of the sudden told myself "that's it I'm done dealing with it". I'm so sick of making sure we ALWAYS have a Binky on board and sick of Cade loosing one and have to scatter to find one. With that being said I'm proud to say he has not had the Binky for 2 weeks now!

How did we do it?? Well Cade has always been good with change, like when we stopped the bottle...didn't phase him one bit. So we made a game out of it, I gave Cade a box and told him we need to find all of his Binky's and put them in the box, he was so excited to gather them all up ( little did he know they'd be gone forever haha) Then I got a bag and wrote "bye bye Binky's" on it and made him dump them all in there...Now this was the part that I was scared to do because I didn't know how he would react, we walked him outside and I told him to throw them away!!! I know mean right....he was so happy to throw them away, weird I know!

When nighttime came I knew he would ask for it..and he did. He said " mama where did Binky go" and I said "they went to the babies" Didn't even say the trash can part because I know he would just say there in the trash haha.. The first couple of days he would ask where the Binky's went and I just kept saying "the Binky's are with the baby's and your a bog boy and don't need them" He says "oh yeah Binky's for the babies"

So it's been 2 weeks and he could care less about them!!! GO MOM AND DAD!!!
